മുറുക്ക്
Rice flour : 1 cup
Urad dal flour : 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Cumin seeds : 1/4 tsp
Sesame seeds : 1/4 tsp
Melted butter : 1tbsp
Oil for deep frying
Mix all the ingredients together (except oil) and knead it into a dough (like puri dough).
Heat oil on low flame. Take a seva nazhi ( see attached picture) and put a portion of the dough(enough to fill seva nazhi).
Press it down (use the star shaped hole chillu) in the shape of murukku into the oil and fry it in low heat. For beginners it is better to press the murukku onto a plastic sheet (you can use a ziploc bag and grease it) and slowly take each murrukku and put it into the oil.Use the same method for using the whole dough. Be careful to fry murukku till golden brown and take it out immediately or else it can burn easily.
